I got this beautiful Coral Pink camera for my birthday about a week ago and I really like it so far! I have not tried this under water so I won't be able to review that yet. I'll edit the review as soon as I do. So let's get to the pros and cons of this camera!
Pros:
- Zooms while recording.
- auto-focuses close up and zooming in while recording.
- A bunch of lovely features! (Snow mode, iSweep, Panorama, Pet mode, etc)
- Does not take long to start the camera up to point and shoot.
- Touch screen is very responsive.
- Can use SD cards. Big plus for this! A lot of Sony cameras won't take these.
- Can shoot in Full Screen (VGA) or Widescreen.
- No weird colored lines when shooting at the sun or bright lights while recording.
- Takes beautiful pictures during the day.
Cons:
- A bit on the pricey side.
- You do hear a little bit of a rattling noise in the background while recording but it can only be heard if it's really quiet. I had to exchange for another copy of the camera because the background noise was horrifically noticeable.
- Battery life doesn't last long, an hour at the most. Definitely consider buying a few extra batteries if you plan on recording or taking pictures for a long amount of time.
- Not finger print or scratch proof. I highly suggest getting a screen protector for the front and back.
- It does take a bit of a long time to turn off the recording when you're done. You have to hold it still until it turns off or the video will be pixilated at the very end.
- Colors a bit off in low house lights.
Other:
- The camera records in .MP4 files, easy to edit the movies in Windows Movie Maker Live.
- I highly suggest reading the manual before using the camera at the beach or under water.
Overall a great little cam! I give this camera between a 4 and a 4.5/5 stars. Sony point and shoot cameras have improved quite a bit over the years. Definitely recommend this one!

Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode automatically detects nine different types of scenes and, within just 1/30th of a second, selects the appropriate camera settings: Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Twilight using a tripod, Portrait, Landscape, Macro, and Close Focus. iSCN has two modes: Auto and Advanced. In Auto Mode, the camera takes a single shot using the optimal settings. In Advanced Mode, the camera takes a photo with the optimal settings and, if in difficult lighting (low light or back light) immediately takes a second photo with another optimized setting so you can choose which to keep.
Anti-blink Function
It's frustrating to think you've captured that perfect shot, only to review it later and discover one of your subjects blinked just as you pressed the shutter. When the camera is set to Soft Snap, the Anti-blink function captures two images, recording only the photo with less squinting or blinking. If a blink is detected in other shooting modes, a warning will be displayed after you take the shot.
